Netscape Mail Ver.7.1 Setup [Windows]

These directions work for Windows 95/98/2000/XP.

STEP 1
Once open Netscape, go to "Windows"menu and move down to "Mail & Newsgroups". Click on it.

STEP 2
Click on "Local Folders" at left window. Click on "Create a new account" on the right window.
When you open Netscape at the first time, it will open "Account Wizard", in this case, go to STEP 3.

STEP 3

- New Account Setup: Select "Email account"

Click on "Next >".

STEP 4

- Your Name: Enter your name (Example: taro)

- Email Address: Enter your e-mail address (Example: taro@example.com)

Click on "Next >".

STEP 5
Enter server information

- Select the type of incoming server: "POP"

- Incoming Server: Enter "mbox.iij.us"
- Outgoing Server: Enter "mbox.iij.us"

Click on "Next >".

STEP 6
Enter User Name

- User Name: Enter your e-mail account replacing with "%" instead of "@". (Example: taro%example.com)

Click on "Next >".

STEP 7
Enter Account Name

- Account Name: Any name (Example: IIJ)

Click on "Next >".

STEP 8
You finish your account setting. Click on "Finish".

STEP 9
Go to "Edit"menu and move down to "Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...". Click on it.

STEP 10
Select on "Server Settings" at left window.

- Use secure connection (SSL): If you would like to use SSL, please check.

STEP 11
Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" on the left window.

- Use name and password: Must Check

- User Name: Your e-mail account replacing with "%" instead of "@". (Example: taro%example.com)

- Use secure connection (SSL): Select Never

Click on "OK".

STEP 12
Go to "Edit"menu and move down to "Preferences". Click on it.

STEP 13
We recommend to select "Plain Text" at "Mail Sending Format". HTML format sometimes can not be readable of some mail client application.

Select "Send Format" at "Mail & Newsgroups" on left window of the "Preferences".
