Outlook 2000 SP-1 Mail Setup

These directions work for Windows 95/98/Windows NT/2000/XP


STEP 1

- Select "Accounts..." from the "Tools" menu at the top.



Click the button for "Add", then click on "Mail".

STEP 2

- Server Type: Select "POP3"
- Incoming mail server (POP3): Enter "mbox.iij.us"
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter "mbox.iij.us"


Click on "Next>".

- User Name: Enter your e-mail account replacing with "%" instead of "@". (Example: taro%example.com)
- Password: Enter your password.
- Remember password: If you would like to save password, please check this.

STEP 3

Select "Connect using my local area network (LAN)" and Click on "Next".

Click on "Finish" and Outlook will start.


STEP 4

  1. Select Accounts from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Mail tab.
  3. Select your email account and click the Properties button.
  4. Click the Servers tab.
  5. On the Servers tab, select My server requires authentication.
  6. Click the Settings button.
  7. Under Logon Information , select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  8. Select the Advanced tab.
  9. Under Outgoing server (SMTP), place a check in the box labeled section at the top, place a check in the box labeled This server requires a secure connection (SSL) and enter "465" as port number.
  10. Under the Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP), place a check in the box labeled This server requires secure connection (SSL). and enter "995" as port number.
  11. Click OK then click Close .
  12. Exit from Outlook. The next time you start the program the new settings will take effect.
